Wood Species

Maple is a smooth, dense hardwood that’s ideal for paint-grade doors. Its fine, even grain takes paint beautifully, giving you a clean, consistent finish that’s both durable and refined.

Mahogany is a robust hardwood perfect for exterior use; it takes stain beautifully, enhancing its deep natural grain while offering lasting outdoor resilience when painted.

Sapele wood is carefully selected for its strength, stability, and natural beauty, making it an ideal choice for exterior doors. Each board is chosen for its tight grain and dense structure, which helps resist warping, cracking, and swelling when exposed to changing temperatures and moisture. This durability allows Sapele wood to stand up to sun, rain, and humidity while maintaining its shape and performance over time. With the right finish and care, Sapele wood offers long-lasting protection, rich character, and a timeless look, making it one of the leading options for exterior applications.

Walnut is a rich, elegant hardwood that’s perfect for a clear coat stain, which brings out its natural grain, depth, and warm color variations.

White oak is a durable wood that stains well. Quarter sawn cuts display bold, unique figure variations, while rift white oak offers a clean, linear grain. Its versatility suits light tones to deep, rich colors.
Door Swing

A left swing door has its hinges on the left side and opens from the left, swinging in the direction you push or pull it.

A right swing door has its hinges on the right side and opens from the right, swinging in the direction you push or pull it.
Core Construction
Solid Stock
Construction: Built 100% from natural lumber planks.
Look and Feel: Authentic, premium grain and weight. You can sand and refinish them many times.
Drawbacks: Natural wood expands and shrinks with humidity and temperature changes. This movement can cause the door to warp, crack, or stick in the frame.
Best Use: Interior rooms with stable climate control, or traditional spaces where authentic solid wood is required.
LVL Core
Construction: Made of thin wood veneers glued tightly together under heavy pressure.
Stability: Extremely strong and straight. LVL practically never warps, twist, or bows, even in harsh conditions.
Look and Feel:
The engineered core is usually wrapped in a 1/4" thick, high-quality natural wood veneer skin so it looks like solid wood on the outside.
Best Use: High-end custom interior and exterior doors where absolute straightness and dimensional stability are required.
Stave Core
Construction: Made from smaller blocks or strips of wood (staves) that are glued and finger-jointed together, than covered with a face veneer usually around 1/4" thick.
Stability: Highly stable. Gluing smaller wood pieces together cancels out the natural tension of a single large solid plank, reducing the risk of warping.
Tradition: Stave core is typically considered the highest quality core by traditional woodworkers.
Best Use: Premium interior doors, hidden doors, and applications where you want a real-wood feel with better warp resistance than a plain solid stock door
